Anne Morrow traces the last few days, including a long-range Atlantic crossing of she and Charles' 1933 Survey flight.She gives the reader some perceptive first-hand impressions of the out of the way places they travelled to, places few had been to at that time, and not many have been to since.Eventually, more modern aircraft made the harbors they operated out of, redundant.The book reads like something from National Geographic and must have been an eye opener for readers of the day. It was particularly fun to read about Anne's lessons in radio operation and her efforts to master the Morse Code.A fine follow up to North to the Orient, my only criticism is that it didn't cover their entire European journey.
I was overwhelmed at the quality of this book. It was in its own case and had a matching name plate. I will treasur this book. Thank you!
