There are several writers in this book sharing their experiences on how to have a closer and more loving relationship with our awesome and wonderful God. God loves us just as we are and you don't have to change yourself before coming to Him. He expects us just as we are. I have been helped by reading this book, because I know now I'm an extraordinary woman in God sight. I hope you feel the same after reading this lovely book.
I didn't have the opportunity to fully investigate this book; it was required for a college course on counseling women. Was excited that it was "written" by Beth Moore (yes, I'm a male that loves to listen to Beth); unfortunately, ONLY THE FIRST CHAPTER IS WRITTEN BY BETH MOORE. The book, thus far (as a stand-alone) is decent. I believe that I'd enjoy it more, with more of Moore. Had Moore written the whole book, I'd be seeing more stars of enjoyment, and you'd be seeing more stars in this rating. For more, check-out Beth's other books, and you'd get a lot more out of Moore.
This book demonstrates different perspectives from different writers. Each chapter is from a different author. This book would be great for a woman's bible study on trusting God. The downside is there are a lot of fillers like personal stories instead of raw biblical information.
It was really nice getting the different perspectives from the various authors. I particularly enjoyed the chapter by Sandra Wilson.
The combination of the different writers was extraordinary. Women who walk with the Lord sharing what they have learned is priceless. This book touched my heart in ways I needed at the time. Would recommend it to every woman.
Love the book, very inspiring and helpful. A good reminder to read along with the Bible. It was in great condition and I will order from the seller again.
Ann Voskamp is a very interesting author in her style of writing. Her use of metaphors brings the picture that she is explaining right to your mental visual line. This is a deep thinking book and I find I read a chapter at a time, peruse it, before going on. Have recommended this book to many others.
The first chapter by Beth Moore is worth reading over and over. God wants to satisfy - we don't have to live trying to substitute or live on a sustenance offered by others. He is the source of satisfaction. His promises wont be broken when we seek them to be true in our lives. This book speaks to women as we have tendencies to look for our satisfaction in the approval of others. Our heavenly Father is sufficient for us, He will satisfy.
