I'm currently in a masters program preparing me for the BCBA exam.The book is FANTASTIC! I have already recommended it to several classmates who have been struggling with the vocabulary. The definitions are written with real world examples and often with quite a bit a humor. While buckling down and creating a study guide for myself, I will reference my Behaviorspeak Glossary and often find myself smiling at their humorous examples in their definitions. DEFINITELY recommend this book for any ABA therapist or anyone in a BCBA program!!!! You wont be disappointed!
I love this book! Dr. Newman's definitions and examples are sharp and to the point. If you have not had the great fortune to know him as a professor or mentor, this might be the next best thing. And it is funny in places, too. It's been on my shelf now for fifteen years, and I still recommend it to students and supervisees.
Love it! If you are one whose eyes glaze over and feels intimidated in the presence of ABA jargon and acronyms, this is for you!
A colleague of mine had a copy of this book my first day of graduate school. I immediately asked, "What is that book?" She said, "It's going to help me talk the way all these people do!" That night I went home and ordered it. I have had it for a year and have looked at it at over 100 times. It is an easy read and an easy guide to common words referred to in Applied Behavior Analysis. Don't get me wrong all my course work and practicum has helped however this book has saved me time looking up terms on the fly. Many times you find yourself on Google.com or Wikipedia.com looking up terms but this book gives you the correct Applied Behavior Analysis terms that are used in the field. The authors of the book are credible professionals in the field. Doctors Sharon and Ken Reeve have been not only amazing professor's who I look up to in this field but amazing ambassadors of the field. Sometimes with the internet you are not sure what you are buying but this book is a must have! This book is for anyone new to the field, a teacher, or a parent. My one hope is they update this book!
This book is easy to read and have all of the terms you need to know for a study of ABA, I am a M.ED student in ABA and love having these terms on my kindle for easy studying on the go.
Lots of unfamiliar terms. Terms needed for test. Must read! Helpful and necessary for preparation for RBT testing. Can be overwhelming!
This a must if you are in the ABA field and are overwhelmed with the language or jargon. Gives great definitions in real people language with excellent examples.
This book is so handy that I just love it. If am working or studying and I forgot the meaning of the term /terms, I just pick up the book and there it is. It's so good, I love it.
